When is the best time to go to Chile, region by region?
Chile stretches over 4,000 kilometres from north to south, so there is no single ideal season: you are really combining three climates. Seasons are the reverse of Europe's, with the southern summer running from December to February. Our journeys generally take place from October to April, the window when the country's three great stages are most accessible.
In Patagonia, the southern summer brings the longest days and the most open trails around Torres del Paine. The wind stays strong all season and the weather can change several times a day, so pack layers. March is often appreciated for calmer days and autumn light, usually with fewer visitors.

Should you add the Atacama and Easter Island?
Yes, if your calendar allows. In San Pedro de Atacama we arrange the Valley of the Moon at sunset, the Miscanti and Miñiques altiplano lagoons above 4,000 metres and, as an option, the Tatio geysers at dawn. Days are generally sunny, but nights are cool, so a warm jacket is essential.
Easter Island can generally be visited year-round. It naturally extends the trip by three nights, between Rano Raraku, Anakena, Orongo and Ahu Akivi. Santiago and Valparaíso, finally, suit the shoulder seasons well: summers are dry and sunny, and the colourful hillsides of the port are explored on foot, by funicular or on a guided walk.
