Arrival in Los Angeles
Flight to Los Angeles, welcome and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2
Los Angeles – Laughlin
A tour of Los Angeles: Hollywood and its Walk of Fame, the villas of Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, then the beach and pier at Santa Monica. Drive to Laughlin, on the Colorado River.
Day 3
Grand Canyon – Flagstaff
A stretch of the legendary Route 66 and its vintage gas stations at Seligman, then the Grand Canyon: from the South Rim, the Colorado River flows 1,500 metres below.
Day 4
Monument Valley and Lake Powell – Kanab
Monument Valley, on Navajo land, and its red sandstone buttes made famous by westerns (optional 4x4 tour with the Navajo), then Lake Powell and the Glen Canyon dam at Page.
Day 5
Kanab – Bryce Canyon
Bryce Canyon and its amphitheatre of orange hoodoos, seen from Sunrise and Sunset Point.
Days 6-11
The desert, the sequoias and San Francisco.
Day 6
Valley of Fire – Las Vegas
The Valley of Fire, its wind-carved red rocks and petroglyphs, then back to Las Vegas for an evening on the Strip.
Day 7
Calico – Bakersfield
Calico, a former mining town in the Mojave Desert turned ghost town, then the drive into California.
Day 8
Giant sequoias – Modesto
Sequoia or Kings Canyon park and its giant sequoias, including the General Sherman, the largest tree in the world by volume.
Day 9
Modesto – San Francisco
San Francisco: the Golden Gate, Fisherman's Wharf and its sea lions, the cable cars, Chinatown and the Victorian houses of Alamo Square.
Day 10
San Francisco – flight home
Free time depending on your flight, then transfer to the airport and fly to France.

Arrival in France
Arrival in France during the day.
