Arrival in Vientiane
Transfer to the hotel and, in the late afternoon, a walk along the banks of the Mekong.

Vientiane – Luang Prabang
Pha That Luang, Patuxai and Vat Si Muang, then about 2 hours by train to Luang Prabang.
Day 4
Luang Prabang and rice
The Living Land centre, from planting to plate, then the town by tuk-tuk.
Days 5-9
The northern mountains and their river.
Day 5
Mount Phousi – Ban Lae Sivilay
Mount Phousi, then the Hmong village of Ban Long Lao and a night in the village of Ban Lae Sivilay.
Day 6
Ban Lae Sivilay – Nong Khiaw
The village craftspeople (weaving, fishing nets, embroidery), then the drive to Nong Khiaw.
Day 7
The Nam Ou river
About 1 h 45 by traditional boat on the Nam Ou to the villages around Muang Ngoi.
Day 8
Ban Nayang Tai – Namkat Yorla Pa
The traditional houses of the Tai Lue village of Ban Nayang Tai, then Namkat Yorla Pa park.
Day 9
The Chom Ong caves
With a local guide, the Kamu village of Chom Ong and the largest caves in Laos, through rice fields and forest.
Days 10-13
Suspension bridges, karst and a lake.
Day 10
Suspension bridges – Vang Vieng
A walk across thirteen suspension bridges in the park, then the train to Vang Vieng.
Day 11
Vang Vieng – Nam Ngum
Tham Xang cave and the countryside between cliffs, then Nam Ngum lake.
Day 12
Nam Ngum – Vientiane – flight home
Free time, then transfer to Vientiane airport and fly to France.
