A journey in two movements: Havana, its peeling pastel facades and live music on every corner, then the Viñales valley, between limestone mogotes and tobacco plantations still farmed the old way.
The trip begins in a casa particular in Vedado, steps from the Malecón where the whole city seems to gather at sunset. Colonial Havana is toured aboard a 1950s convertible American car, between Cathedral Square and the Morro fortress, before Fusterlandia, an entire neighbourhood covered in mosaics, and an impromptu salsa evening at a local club.
The UNESCO-listed Viñales valley changes the pace entirely — limestone mogotes rising from the tobacco fields, family plantations where leaves still dry the old way in wooden sheds, and a horseback ride to the Cueva del Indio cave. The return to Havana closes the trip in the Callejón de Hamel, an alley dedicated to Afro-Cuban culture, murals and rumba at sunset.
