A journey between Oranjestad, a pastel-coloured Dutch colonial capital, Eagle Beach, regularly ranked among the world's finest, and the cactus desert of Arikok National Park.

Eagle Beach, white sand and fofoti trees

More than two kilometres long, Eagle Beach owes its worldwide reputation to sand of a rare whiteness and fineness, as well as its famous fofoti trees, sculpted by the trade winds that blow constantly along the island's west coast. Unlike many Caribbean beaches, it stays wide even at high tide, offering plenty of space to never feel crowded.

Arikok, a desert in the Caribbean

Arid year-round and covered in towering cacti that can reach ten metres in height, Arikok National Park radically breaks with the usual image of the Caribbean. Its limestone rock formations, caves adorned with Amerindian petroglyphs and the Conchi natural pool, accessible only on foot or by 4x4, make it one of the region's most singular nature reserves.
