Athens for the Acropolis and the lanes of Plaka, Meteora for its monasteries perched on rock pillars, then Santorini for its white villages above the caldera. A condensed tour of ancient Greece and the Cyclades.
The trip begins in the neoclassical lanes of Plaka, at the foot of the Acropolis, with a visit to the Parthenon at opening time to beat the heat and the crowds. The road then leads to Meteora, where still-active Byzantine monasteries perch on vertiginous rock pillars — two are visited in the morning, before a transfer to the Cyclades later in the day.
Santorini closes the trip with the white and blue houses of Oia, terraces suspended above the caldera at sunset. A boat trip out to the active Nea Kameni volcano and the hot springs allows a swim in sulphur-tinted waters, before one last free morning in Fira village.
