Amboseli

Days 2-3

Amboseli is the picture most people have of Kenya: elephants crossing the plain in front of Kilimanjaro. Two nights here leave time for a late-afternoon game drive and a full day in the park.

Day 2

Nairobi – Amboseli by train

Meet your French-speaking guide, transfer to Nairobi station and take the train to Emali. Drive on to Amboseli (120 km), lunch at the lodge, then a first game drive at the end of the day.

Day 3

Amboseli, facing Kilimanjaro

A full day on safari in Amboseli National Park, in the south of the country on the Tanzanian border. The savannah stretches out at the foot of Kilimanjaro, whose snow-capped summit towers over the elephant herds. Picnic lunch.

Tsavo

Day 4

Tsavo is Kenya's largest national park. Its elephants coat themselves in the region's ochre dust, which gives them a red colour seen nowhere else.

Day 4

Amboseli – Tsavo National Park

Drive to Tsavo (220 km) with a picnic lunch on the way. The afternoon is spent on a game drive in the heart of the park, looking for the red elephants.
