A journey in two movements: Rio de Janeiro, between urban beaches and rainforest-covered peaks, then the Iguaçu Falls, one of the most impressive natural spectacles on the planet.
The trip begins in Copacabana, before a climb to Christ the Redeemer right at sunrise to enjoy the site without the crowds. Rio then reveals itself through contrasts — Sugarloaf Mountain and its view over Guanabara Bay, the bohemian lanes of Santa Teresa, Ipanema beach, and the urban rainforest of Tijuca, the largest urban forest in the world. An evening at a local samba school closes this first chapter on an upbeat note.
The Iguaçu Falls, wider than Niagara and taller than Victoria, are explored from two complementary perspectives — the Brazilian side, with walkways offering an overview, and the Argentine side, closer to the water, up to the Devil's Throat where the boat excursion approaches as close as possible to the curtain of foam. The noise and permanent mist are a reminder, right up to the last day, of the site's truly outsized scale.
