A journey in two movements: the vertical vertigo of Dubai, between skyscrapers and traditional souks, then a night under canvas in the desert, just a short drive from the glass towers.

Dubai, vertical vertigo

The trip begins among the glass towers of Dubai Marina, before a trip to the top of the Burj Khalifa that puts the whole sprawling city below into perspective. The contrast comes fast: Al Fahidi, the historic coral-house district, a Dubai Creek crossing by traditional abra, then the spice and gold souks of Deira, where haggling remains an art form.

The desert, just behind the towers

Less than an hour from the skyscrapers, the golden dunes of the Arabian desert change the register entirely — a 4x4 safari, sunset over the sand, then a night at a Bedouin camp, dinner under the stars and a traditional show. The Abu Dhabi excursion, between the white-marble-domed Grand Mosque and the Louvre museum on its artificial island, rounds out the trip before a final afternoon on the Palm Jumeirah.
