Torres del Paine National Park, in the far south of Chile, takes its name from three granite towers that rise over two thousand five hundred metres above the Patagonian plains. Considered by many to be one of the world's most beautiful national parks, it also shelters glaciers thousands of years old, lakes of unexpected turquoise colour, and one of South America's last wild puma populations.

The Towers Trek, to the iconic viewpoint

The hike to the Towers viewpoint, one of the most iconic in Patagonia, climbs through lenga forest and rocky moraines before opening onto a head-on view of the three granite towers, often glowing pink at sunrise. A demanding but technically accessible stage, taking a full day.

Grey Lake and its glacier

A boat trip on Grey Lake approaches the face of the glacier of the same name, whose blue ice blocks, sometimes thousands of years old, drift silently on the water. The turquoise waters of Lake Pehoé and the surrounding valleys, meanwhile, offer some of the most photographed viewpoints of the towers themselves.
