Your journey begins in Rome, where every street seems to tell a different layer of history. After you arrive, a first evening in the lively Trastevere district sets the tone: cobbled lanes, family-run trattorias, and an atmosphere that hasn't changed much in a century.
The next day, you'll visit the Colosseum on private access at opening time, ahead of the crowds, then wander through the Roman Forum in the footsteps of emperors. The following day, it's on to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel with an art history guide, before a free afternoon to discover the city's fountains at your own pace.
From Rome, the road leads to Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance. An evening walk to the Ponte Vecchio at sunset offers a first taste of the city, before a private visit to the Uffizi Gallery the next day — Botticelli, Michelangelo, and Raphael, without the usual crowds.
The pace then slows in the Tuscan countryside: a day given over to a family-run vineyard in Chianti, lunch beneath the olive trees, a tasting of local wines, and hills rolling out of sight in every direction. This is where Italy shows its other face — less hurried, more attentive to detail.
